2. Historical buildings are restored to attract tourists, such as the ruins of Pompeii in Rome and Port Arthur in Tasmania being restored.

3. Revenue raised from tourism can be used to conserve and protect the environment. The Indonesian orangutan, African mountain gorilla and Kenyan elephant all depend on revenue from tourism to survive.

4. Tourism provides job opportunities for the local people. Tourism currently employs 200 million people worldwide.
