The last known descendant of Cleopatra VII, the last active ruler of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt, is often considered to be her son Caesarion, whom she had with Julius Caesar. After Cleopatra's death in 30 BC, Caesarion was captured and killed by Octavian's forces. The Ptolemaic line continued through her other children, particularly with Mark Antony, but Cleopatra's direct lineage effectively ended with Caesarion. Subsequent claims to her legacy have been made, but they are not direct descendants.
