Do racoons hurt humans

Only when cornered or when they feel threatened will they attack a human. Stay clear of them when eating and don't try to feed them by hand, as they could mistake your finger as food. They actually can be very friendly, but they are wild, so getting close is up to them! If you get to close to one & you feel it is going to attack by the noises it makes, act like a bear, stand tall & stomp your feeet while yelling loudly. This will scare them away. If they get close for attention, this may take alot of months to do, but it should be there choice. It is never recommended anyone get close to one more than you have to so becareful!
