How do you write novels like the little house books?

The Little House on the Prairie books are old-fashionedand based on the experiences of the author, Laura Ingalls Wilder. If you'd like to write a book like this, you could try making one up (if you are knowledgeable about past times), or better yet, write about your childhood experiences. If you are too young, you might want to ask an elderly family member or friend to share stories of their past.

However, writing a book like Little House isn't easy if you are not from those times or familiar with the era. So why not write about write now? Write about your life, or your childhood in these times.

Back when the author was a child, she would have never been able to sell her books. People didn't want to read about her lifewhen their life was exactly the same! So write a story about your experiences, wait until you're very old, then sell! It's hard to imagine, but someday the things you use, and the thing you do, will seem OLD FASHIONED!
