Why wash hair before haircut?

Aside from it being hygienic & a common courtesy to the stylist doing your hair, it's best for your hair to be in it's clean, natural state to get the best cut & style. However, do be sure to have your hair DRY before getting it cut. If your hair is wet, it looks longer than it actually it & that can result in it being cut shouter than you actually want.
