What is significant about Able Magwitch's name?

Able Magwitch is a 70's music cover band that play Clubs , Pubs , and Corporate Events on a regular basis throughout Brisbane & S/E Qld in Australia . When they were younger they chose the name so that people would remember them . Other bands such as Jethro Tull and Uriah Heep had used names from the author Charles Dickens , so they followed suit , although they changed the Christian name of Abel to Able . The character whose name they used is the convict out of the novel - Great Expectations .
