How much does scaphoid bone surgery cost?

I had this surgery. It runs about $12,300 in the Chicagoland area. I had to get a CT scan and an MRI before. The CT I think was around $2300 and the MRI was $4000. You also have a bunch of doctor's appts and X-Rays.

The surgery runs ~ $25,000 in the San Francisco Bay Area, circa 2009.
