How to distille oil from ylang ylang?

Essential oil from ylang-ylang is extracted by water or steam from the freshly picked flowers. Standard water distillation methods are used, (you need the equipment and LOTS of flowers).

The first distillation is called ylang-ylang extra, which is the top grade oil, there are often three more distillations called grade 1, 2, & 3.

An absolute and a concrete may also be made using solvent extraction.
