Where do alligaters hide?

Alligators typically hide in freshwater habitats such as swamps, marshes, rivers, and lakes. They often seek shelter among dense vegetation, submerged logs, or in mud and grass to remain concealed from predators and to ambush prey. During colder months, they may also burrow into the mud or find warm areas to stay hidden. Their ability to camouflage with their surroundings makes them effective hunters and avoids detection.
