When did William Rowe invent gumball machines?

all i know is that the gumball machine was first invented in 1907, but we first discovered vending machines in ruins in Egypt and Greece they dispensed holy water in exchange for coins, well i hope this helps bye :)

The gumball machine was created and patented in either 1907 or 1908. The original creator sold the patent for $200. Why my great grandpa sold the patent i will never know.
