What is the symbolism of four leaf clover tattoos?

Normaly it shows an Irish heratige or they are for luck. The clover leaf is associated with the prison gang Aryan Brotherhood. If another inmate sports such a tatoo in prison and is not part of the gang the tatoo will be cut off their body. It does not matter if they are Irish or not.
