You cant buy GLA in NY. GLA was only released in certain states as a test market Kentucky, tenn ,Virginia, and one other. Your best bet now is to hit eBay before the prices sky rocket. I also have several sets if you are interested my email is subwdude@Yahoo.com. Volumes one and two have been out for a while and are mostly bought up and they are not producing anymore as these are limited editions.

Originally GLA was test marketed in Virginia starting in May 2007 and if I'm correct it was Volume 1 and there were 12 bottles. These bottles then began to scatter around the southeast part of the US including Kentucky, TN, Alabama, Georgia, West Virginia and maybe a few more. Some gas stations got them in Georgia, I believe but alot of these bottles started showing up in United Grocery Outlets in Kentucky and Tenn and Save-Alots in Alabama or MS. And it seems like they (Pepsi) over produced these and they did not really sell well and these bottles were sent to discount stores where you could buy these bottles for 50 cents or a quarter. The price they sold for typically at retail was $1.99. I heard alot of military base people saw these bottles down south and they all started collecting them too. And so the momentum began where more people found out about these although it was not truly a off the bat success. The Pharaoh's bottle was like the last bottle that made it to market in Virginia and I believe all the people down south never were able to get that bottle. But all these bottles were supposedly produced in Indiana were these people got had access to these too to sell to the public when they saw this bottle going for $150.00 or more. Then Pepsi decides to start the Volume 2 Series 1 edition and this consisted of 3 new bottles and included 3 of the previous bottles and these came out in Feb or March (I believe) 2008 and these bottles were intended to be on a more national scale distribution not that every town got them but they were spread out all across America this time. Will mention the first aluminum bottle that was also a national scale bottle was the Halo 3 Mountain Dew energy drink and this bottle was something done to promote Halo 3 release and was primarily sold to 7-11 Eleven stores whom were also promoting this movie. Other convenience store did get them too. This bottle came out only after they started the test market aluminum bottles in Virginia. Well anyway after Volume 2 Series 1 bottles in Feb or March 2008 (I believe) then they came out with the 4 "Americana Series" of Mountain Dew Bottles and these came out right before July 4th in June 2008. Although some may truly believe these bottles have nothing to do with Green Label Art (I'm sort of on that side), Pepsi reps through consumer hotline do refer to them as GLA bottles when I've talked to them. And there is truth to this because those designs were created by a artist designer in Portland, Oregon I believe, but he is just like one of the selected artists found for the Green Label Art bottles too. Then they came out with the 4 "Nascar Series" bottles in the summer time of 2008 for Mountain Dew. Then in August 2008 they released 6 new Mountain Dew Green Label Art bottles again called Volume 2 Series 2 (I believe) and along with these six there was a so called "secret bottle" produced by the famous Pushead known artist that has done major cover artwork for Metallica and has a very unique line of businesses related to his designs. Check this guys stuff out. This bottle was never sold in stores and was only found at a Mountain Dew GLA sponsored event in Las Vegas. It is one of the hardest and most expensive bottles to get along with 3 of the very first ever bottles being Pharaohs Paper Tigers, & God of Dews. And lastly we now have Pepsi that got its main brand into the mix and came out with 4 retro Pepsi Aluminum Bottles of previous decade designs that came out in October 2008. Then right before Thanksgiving 2008 Pepsi came out with 6 Pepsi NFL themed player/team bottles. The Volume 2 Series 1 was sold in Walmart stores if they made it to your town. The Volume 2 Series 2 was sold in Walmart (Target signed on to sell these bottles too) if again they made it to your town. Alot of the Walmarts (more of them definitely offered the 4 Americana Series, 4 Nascar Series, & 4 Pepsi Retro Series bottles. And some Walmarts got the Pepsi NFL Series which has 6 bottles. Call Pepsi consumer hotline number on the back of a Pepsi can and they will be able to help you locate these bottles. I personally know that one Walmart in the New Jersey area offered some of these Green Label Art bottles and I would have to bet that NY state would offer these bottles in the Walmarts or Targets there too because they are headquartered there in Sommers, NY. But when I was there I called a few Walmarts and they were like no. They may say no because they have no clue what your talking about (aluminum bottle what?) (Some do and can be very helpful) When at a Walmart, always Check the soda isle first, then check the end of the isles, also check the soda coolers by registers or look on top of them. Or even look on shelves next to register. Or look in the middle of isles near on a rack stand or a Lipton Iced Tea stand. The point is you always have to look hard. You can ask but not everyone knows about them. You need to check them Walmarts every so often because now pretty much all these bottles arrive in a Walmart (Target) as opposed to the gas stations because people did not want to pay $1.99 for a Mountain Dew in a gas station to drink. So they sell them at a lower cost of $1.50 and people may drink them or just save them. Pepsi only sends a store a small amount one time or just a few. But the hope is that Pepsi is creating a consumer base that enjoys collecting these cool bottles and displaying them at home and they will create a brand loyalty with these consumers whom may try their product and continue buying their product because Pepsi has given these people a new hobby and basically has given something to them and in return these people will return the favor in becoming brand loyalists of Mountain Dew/Pepsi products in the long term. These bottles supposedly cost more money to produce because they are three times stronger than a aluminum can. If you want info on the Green Label Art bottles....go to www.greenlabelart.com or go to Ebay to see all the different bottles offered there too. Type in Mountain Dew aluminum bottles or just type in Green Label Art on Ebay. All these bottles are very cool but Anheuser-Busch has been offering this same style aluminum bottles since 2005 that have many different designs on there bottles as well. These cobranded designed bottles include 2006 World Series Champions St Louis Cardinals, 2007 WS Champs Boston Red Sox, 2008 San Antonio Spurs, 2006-2007 Colts Super Bowl, 2006/2007/2008 Hard Rock Cafe, 2006/2007 Sturgis Bike Week, 2006 All Star Las Vegas NBA, 2007 Hooters, 2008 Boston Celtics Champions, 75th Pittsburg Steelers, 75th Philadelphia Eagles, 75th Washington Redskins, 2008 New York Yankees All Star game, 2008 New York Mets Shea Stadium, 2007/2008 United Way, 2005/2006/2007 Halloween, 2006/2007/2008 St Patricks Day, 2006 Cinco De Mayo, 2007 Fiesta (Cinco de Mayo) and they have offered almost all the MLB baseball teams too. There are still many bottles that I have missed but if you go to Ebay and type in Budweiser aluminum or Bud Light aluminum you will see some of these bottles as well. If you are a fan of Coca-Cola, Dr.Pepper, Dublin Dr. Pepper pure cane sugar, RC Cola, Sunkist, Crush Orange, Nehi, Nu-Grape, 7-UP, SnApple, Gatorade, A&W Rootbeer, IBC, Barq's, Boylan Cola or any other softdrink company and enjoy seeing the unique packaging of such companies cans, bottles, advertising, etc.....then you really might enjoy the Pepsi-Cola aluminum bottles that are being offered. For more unique aluminum bottles listed on Ebay check out Ebay user id: idreaminnovations items and these bottles may be listed randomly as well. Always feel free to ask a question there too.
