Does the book Harry Potter relate to anything in the world?

Well, JK is not a wizard, so definitely not in that aspect.

She spent 5 years planning to write the series before she started writing them. I'm sure some of the NON-magical events are loosely based on her life, but I don't think a particular person was the base for Harry Potter.
