Was the sea serpent real

Well, the Kraken described in many stories is very similar to a giant squid, which has been proven to be real and has been studied an dissected and is on display at some museum which I do not remember the name of. Also, a close relative of the giant squid, the colossal squid, has also been proven and studied and dissected and is on display. I doubt either of these proven creatures attacked a ship, but they may have. So little is known about these magnificent creatures. The only definite answer I can give you is possibly yes.
