Was John Chisum a real person?

Yes John Simpson Chisum was a real person and he was not John Wayne.

None of the film's that contain information about him, his life, or the Lincoln County Land War have much truth to them.

There are many experts of John Chisum and those who claim to be "experts on John Chisum." many facts are wrong. But his life is easy to check out if one desires to do so.

I attend a family reunion on May 16, 2010 at his old home place at the Clear Creek ranch, Boliver, Denton County, Texas. I Met his descendants including grand daughters and grandsons. He was my GG Uncle, (he has many great nephews and nieces, mainly from his sister's line, many may not know it).
