What was the challenge in building an airplane?

One major challenge in building an airplane is keeping it up in the air. Since airplanes are heavy, they need to work to be able to stay above the very light air. Other challenges include carrying enough fuel to get them safely to their destination and pressurizing the air to make it safe for humans.
