Particularly referenced to roller pigeons and the hobby sponsored by NBRC, a kit is a trained competing "flock" of roller pidgins. While "kit" is a more descriptive designation. Young selected offspring of matched or paired Birmingham Rollers are trained carefully and meticulously through ardent procedures. Feeding and environment affects the quality of flight performance. When the developed group of Rollers has been nurtured to performance levels, the released sets of performers are called a KIT of Rollers. Watching them perform in contests is thrilling. But make no mistake, raising Rollers is a difficult hobby demanding attention to detail and dedication, but the rewards mental relaxation are the payoff. See National Birmingham ROLLER Club for more information on this great hobby and these extraordinary birds.
