Can stainless steel be brazed

I have done it before with a s/s dishwasher hinge, using mapp gas, 750 degree jewelers silver solder and high temp flux. you need keep the s/s from firestain long enough to get it all up to temperature. it was difficult. If you have a larger bonding area, evo stiks serious stuff is unbelievably strong when used with clamps to set.
