Who is the antagonist in The Enemy by Pearl S Buck?

As far as characters are concerned, the doctor, the pearl buyers, and the trackers are antagonists.

However, when one consideres this novella to be an allegory, the pearl itself, which is a symbol for the greed associated with material wealth, brings about many problems for Kino and his family. In this sense, the actual pearl can be considered an antagonist.
