The Planarian is a single celled organism with a rather large vacuole. In water, the water concentration outside the cell is higher than what is inside, causing the water to pass into the cell. At the risk of drowning, Planarian expel excess water through their vacuole to keep water levels stable. The force exerted by the exiting water propels the Planarian through the water.
