1984 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 40 won't stay running without foot on gas pedal. 2F engine with carburetor. Any help. Whats wrong?

The 84 model has some serious smog equipment if I remember correctly. Best not be fooling with that stuff.

Check the simple things first:

Check your idle speed and mix adjuster screws.

Idle jet\passageway clogged or float is dead.

Vacuum leak anywhere will give you a poor\no idle.
