Morgan G. Bulkeley (born December 26, 1837 in East Haddam, Connecticut; died November 6, 1922 in Hartford, Connecticut) succeeded Phineas C. Lounsbury as the thirty-ninth Governor of Connecticut, serving between January 10, 1889 and January 4, 1893. Following the end of Bulkeley's term as Governor, Luzon B. Morris (born April 16, 1827 in Newton, Connecticut; died August 22, 1895 in New Haven, Connecticut) became the fortieth Governor of Connecticut, serving between January 4, 1893 and January 9, 1895.
