Did the Buddha believe in animal sacrifice?

The Buddha did not advocate for animal sacrifice. In fact, he emphasized compassion and non-violence towards all living beings as central tenets of his teachings. The promotion of ahimsa, or non-harming, is fundamental in Buddhism, suggesting a rejection of practices that involve harming animals.
