Turn the breaker off to the circuit that you are working on. As long as there are only two screws on the new switch wire it the same as the old switch. Take one wire off the old switch and install it on the new switch. Then do the same thing with the last wire. On the switch you will see a dimple on the switch handle. Position it so that it faces the floor when you re install the new switch into the wall box. By doing this the switch will be in the correct position to be off when the handle is down and on when the handle is in the up position. Turn the breaker back on and you will be good to go.
