In mutualism, both organisms win... like the bacteria in our guts, they break down food so we can absorb it, and we feed them. Win-win.

In parasitism, one organism wins at the expense of the other. Take tape-worms, like bacteria, they can live in our guts, we feed them, but they provide NOTHING of value to us and instead actually hurt us.
