Where can I find how many gigabytes your PS3 has?

The System information under the settings menu will tell you the amount of room available on your harddrive and how much has been used. The figure will always be lower than the HDD size. My 320 GB PS3 had only 298 GB available

The related links lists the model numbers, hard drive capacity release date and some other information on that page. You can use the model number to determine what PS3 model you. The model number comes after the serial number and is located on the back of the PS3. For the Slim models it is on the back left bottom corner and all other earlier models have it on the left side near the top of the PS3. Below is a copy of the chart from the related link:
