How do you dress like your from the 80's?

There are many different styles from the 80s. Most of the American more mainstream 80s looks were cheesy. Cheesy 80s for girls: tafeta dresses, HUGE jewellery, sweats, lots of rouge and bright lipstick and eyeshadow. And for the guys: sweatbands, head sweatbands, hightop trainers, aviator sunnies.

BUT! I much prefer the looks derived from the UK - the new romantics and new waves.

The LOOK of the 80s is backcombed big hair, long fringes, lots of eye makeup, loose fitting sweatshirts/batwing blouses, ruffles, harem or loose pants which are a bit too short, and generally abstract patterns.

For girls: think loose wide rounded collars, loose wide fitting shirts, high waisted skirts with a belt, leg/arm warmers, dresses with the waist belted, dramatic, colourful and bold accessories.

For guys: Fingerless gloves, jeans or loose pants with the bottom of the leg hem rolled up, keds with laces, red slouch boots, big black coat, maybe a fedora hat and some wayfarers.
