How do you convince your dad to get you a new phone?

Like the last person said, do not attempt to get a new one unless your current one is broken.

HOWEVER, I'm not going to leave it at that. What you need to do is break the phone. Yep. And this isn't as simple as slamming your phone on the ground, but it can be fairly easy.

You need to make it look like an accident. It can't look as if it was intentionally broken (i.e. scratching the crap out of it with a knife or a pair of scissors) but make it look like and accident in front of your parents. Let's say you're riding a bike and the phone falls out of your pocket. I've had the same crap phone that isn't so smart for five years now. I'm sick of it. And that is what I am going to do.
