How long is recovery time after fat transfer?

It depends how much fat was put in: there is a proportional relationship between volume of fat injected and swelling, as the more fat is put in, the more the tissues have to be disturbed. Also there is a difference between recovery to a point where you feel able to get up and move around and do things - this can be quite quick - if however you are talking about the swelling and the bruising going down and reaching a point where you look 'normal', particularly with facial fat transfer, this can take weeks. During these weeks you will continue to get twinges in the transplant area from the nerves re-settling. Expect your face to keep subtly changing shape for the first 3 to 6 months.
