The last man standing in the Roman Triumvirate was Octavian, later known as Augustus. After a series of conflicts and power struggles following the assassination of Julius Caesar, he emerged victorious over his rivals, including Mark Antony and Cleopatra. Octavian's consolidation of power marked the end of the Roman Republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire. He became the first emperor of Rome, ruling from 27 BC until his death in AD 14.
