What color is ecru?

Off-white.

Rather than off-white, it's more like a dark dirty yellow. Kind of a grayish/yellow in fact. In Hawaii we refer to some girls' hair as ecru. We find it attractive. I only add this to make the point that its not necessarily used in a negative way, although my best description of the color doesn't sound very appealing.
