Saint Lucia of Fatima, also known as Lucia dos Santos, was one of the three shepherd children who witnessed the apparitions of the Virgin Mary in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. Born on March 28, 1907, she is known for her role in the events that led to the messages of peace and conversion shared by the Virgin Mary. Lucia became a Carmelite nun and dedicated her life to spreading the message of Fatima, particularly the importance of prayer and penance. She was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church on May 13, 2017, the centenary of the first apparition.
