What is utility vs normal aircraft?

Aircraft falling into the Normal category have limited gross weight maneuvers. Most small aircraft fall into this category.

Aircraft falling into the Utility category can withstand stronger loads than those in the Normal category and are frequently classified as being acrobatic.


It's important to note that some aircraft can operate in both categories if specifications concerning load, C of G and reduced airspeeds are met.
