Copperheads are generally solitary snakes, coming together primarily during the mating season in the spring and early fall. Outside of this period, they tend to live alone and occupy separate territories. However, during colder months, they may hibernate in communal dens with other copperheads and sometimes different snake species. Overall, they do not form long-term social bonds.
