The Space Shuttle Challenger was scheduled to launch on its STS-51-L mission on January 28, 1986. Its primary destination was low Earth orbit, where it was set to deploy the TDRS-B (Tracking and Data Relay Satellite) and conduct various scientific experiments. Tragically, the shuttle broke apart just 73 seconds after liftoff, leading to the loss of all seven crew members.
