All of the petals of a flower are called a corolla. The calyx, made up of sepals, is located beneath (behind) the corolla. The sunflower is one of those plants that has a flower head. The inner florets have very reduced (small) petals. They will form the fruits/seeds. The outer florets (ray or petal bearing florets) can be yellow, red, orange or a combination of those colors.
