What is a figarie or figaries?

This is a Word my Irish mother would use to describe a tantrum or hissy fit. As in "she had a figarie because I wouldn't give her chocolate"

Figarie can also be used to describe doing something on the spur of the moment. As in she "I had a mad figarie and I decided to paint the room."
