What purpose does the design brief serve in the design process?

What you plan to do eg. To desih=gn and make a reading lamp or girls aged 5-10

It's i cant remember it's most likely a layout of what you want to do for a project but that's all i know

It is when you identify what you need to do,what will the structure do and who will your design help.
