How many hours can a 17 year old student work?

hi, well I'm 18 so it will proberly be alot different, but my course tutor advised us to not do more than 16 hours a week or it would be detremental to our work, and tbh i think she has a point. i mean we've still gotta find time to party right!!!!!!!!!
