Are you talking about the Vice President of the United States, or the vice president of a corporation?
The Vice President of the United States cannot be an officer of a corporation while serving as Vice President. He or she can be a corporate officer before becoming Vice President, as Dick Cheney was, and the vice president can become a corporate officer after leaving office, but while serving as vice president the Vice President can't be a corporate officer.
Vice presidents of corporations are, by definition, corporate officers.
