Advantages of breast feeding

It provides the most suitable composition of milk for the baby, so it will be easier for him/her to digest it (the baby will have less chances of getting diarrhoea, for example). Also, this makes Allergies less likely.

It contains antibodies, providing passive immunity to the baby. This means that the baby will be protected from diseases that the mother already had, but he will not produce the antibodies him/herself.

The milk is already at the correct temperature to feed the baby and no preparation is necessary.

Also it is sterile ('clean'), there is no risk of infection from bottled milk.

Finally, it protects the mother against Breast cancer and helps the body return to normal after pregnancy.
