Why did Jose Rizal became a hero?

Because of his two novels Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo

Because of his passion in defending the country and emancipating the people from the ruthless Spaniards then. He used his education not only for himself but for the betterment of his beloved country. His deeds for the freedom of the Philippines was incredible and ever memorable. He was killed in public and became a martyr. He did not use any dangerous weapon in his revolution yet used his novels and other scholarly works for the liberation of the Flipinos instead. He is Jose Protacio Mercado Rizal, the Philippine's NationalHero.
