Where does diesel originate from?

Diesel fuel originates from crude oil, which is extracted from the earth through drilling. The crude oil undergoes a refining process that includes distillation, where it is heated and separated into various components based on their boiling points. Diesel is derived from the heavier fractions of crude oil, specifically those that boil between approximately 180°C and 360°C.
