The only vitamin that is proven toxic in relativly small quantities is vitamin D (of course we need it in very tiny quantities). According to the material safety data sheet it does not seem to be toxic to invertabates (worms and insects). It did not show toxicity at the highest tested dose. All the vitamins should be quickly consumed by bacteria in the compost. I would just to be safe spread them around well and put them in the middle just so curious pets cannot get to them.
