When was a j c higgins-model 101.24 sold by sears and roebuck co. made and what is it worth. it is a single bolt action 22 short long or long rifle?

I seem to remember my dad saying that he bought his from Sears around 1947. I understand that these rifles are extremely common and only worth about $60 in very good condition. My dad passed it on to me when he died. I'd never sell it. It is very reliable, accurate, and fun to shoot.
