This is how it is performed on my 2000 Buick Regal LS
1. Sit in the driver's seat.
2. Close all vehicle doors.
3. Insert the key into the ignition and turn the key on, (DO NOT START) and then off.
4. Remove the key from the ignition.
5. Press and hold unlock on the door lock switch. DO NOT RELEASE UNTIL STATED
6. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, insert and remove the ignition key twice. Do not rotate the ignition lock cylinder.
7. Insert the ignition key a third time leaving the key in the ignition lock cylinder.
8. Release the door lock switch. You will hear three chimes. This chime feedback indicates that transmitter programming is active.
9. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time on the keyless entry transmitter for 12 to 15 seconds. You will hear two chimes. This chime feedback indicates that the transmitter has been programmed successfully.
10. Repeat step 9 for the rest of the transmitters (for a total of 4 transmitters).
11. Exit this procedure by removing the ignition key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Answeryou will need the dealer tech 2 scan tool to do this AnswerAssuming you have "Pass key III", there is another way. The procedure that the manual recomends is for when the battery dies and your fob goes brain dead as a result. For lost fobs it's recommended that you get your car and fobs reprogramed so no one else can easily get at your car. The quick test to see if your fob needs to be resynchronized is to press the instant alarm (red horn symbol button). If that works and nothing else then resynchronize. Take your brain dead fob and press both the lock and unlock buttons simultaniously within range of the car. The manual says this should take about 8 seconds. Once the car has re-awakend your fob, the locks will cycle and what ever else your car has been programed to do when it locks and unlocks.Copyright © 2026 eLLeNow.com All Rights Reserved.
