Who runs UNESCO?

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is run by its member states, which are represented at the General Conference held every two years. The organization is governed by an Executive Board, elected by the General Conference, and its day-to-day operations are managed by a Secretariat led by the Director-General. The current Director-General, as of October 2023, is Audrey Azoulay.
