How much water should I put in a ten gallon water tank for a red slider turtles?

fill it nearly to the top, res are very good swimmers and are naturally found in fairly deep pond waters. it should be in a 60+ gallon tank and have a dock [preferably home made for a res that size] so it can dry off and bask under the UV
