What are the advantages of using MDF wood?

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a highly stable material. It is composed of short wood fibers and a binder matrix. It has no grain to cause chipping or tear-out during machining or processing, which also makes it a homogenous, dimensionally stable material. It takes paint and other surface coatings well, and can be suitable for outdoor applications, if finished properly.
