What does the word Quitiplas mean?

Its a Venezuelan (maybe other places in Latin America as well) percussion instrument. It consists of 2 hollow bamboo cylinders that you hit against the ground and against each other repeatedly making the sound of Qui-Ti-Plas (that's where the name comes from)
